The skull cap trend is a TikTok glow-up skit that took off in mid-October 2026. You start out looking as awkward as possible — bright room, big grin, glasses — pull on a black skull cap, and right on the beat drop the video hard-cuts to a dark room: hood up, glasses off, a cold stare into the camera.
The caption says it all: "How dudes act 0.01 seconds after putting on a skull cap." One of the first widely seen versions was posted on October 16, 2026, and between October 18 and 23 several videos passed ten million views. Dogs, couples and girls' versions followed within days, and commenters kept saying the "after" looks like Marlon, a streamer known for his black skull cap.
A skull cap trend video from Skull Cap Trends is your version of that clip, built from one photo of you or your pet. The AI makes both halves and the cut. No footage from anyone's TikTok is used and the song isn't included — you add the sound when you post.
The classic glow-up is preselected. Switch to the pet version if the star is your dog or cat.
A bright, front-facing photo works best — the brighter and goofier, the bigger the switch. Glasses are a bonus: they come off in the "after".
Choose 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. A preview is usually ready in 4–8 minutes and a full clip in 5–10, and you can close the tab while it runs. When you post, add the trend sound from the app’s library and switch on the AI-generated label.
Every 10-second clip follows the same beats as the trend, with your photo as the star. The 5-second preview is a short cut of the same switch.
Bright room, big grin, a wave at the phone. As harmless as it gets.
A plain black skull cap gets pulled on. That is the whole trick.
No transition. In the real trend this lands on the beat drop.
Pitch-dark room, hood up over the cap, glasses gone, a cold stare that does not move.
One switch, a few ways to cast it. Pick a template and it loads straight into the generator above.

A happy pet, then the same pet in a tiny black beanie, completely unimpressed.
Two people switching together. Coming soon.
Coming soonA selfie is enough. Your face and hair carry through both halves of the clip.
Make sure the whole head and both eyes are visible in the photo.
A friend or partner who is happy to be in it. Never someone who has not agreed.

Shot 2: the same man in a pitch-dark room lit by a dim cold light from one side, black skull cap with the grey hood pulled up over it, glasses off, completely still, a blank, cold stare straight into the camera.
